Abstract Art Project

Today we explored abstract art through the works of Wassily Kandinsky and Piet Mondrian. We discussed how both art and music can be used to express our emotions. We included happy, sad and angry lines within our drawings, along with geometric shapes and music symbols we learned about today in music class. Next week, we will add paint to complete this art project. Stay tuned!

Pencil Holder Challenge

Pencil Holders

Today we finished our design challenge. We were given 10 straws, a piece of paper and tape and were asked to build a pencil holder that could hold up to 20 pencils.

"I learned that it was harder than I thought to make a pencil holder. My group had to make 2 designs before it worked."

Ask your child about the design process we followed.
