Today we brainstormed different ways to calm our bodies and minds. Here are some strategies that students came up with during our conversation:
- Taking deep breaths
- Taking 5 (away from the
situation)
- Cuddles with animals
- Talk with others who feel the
same
- Squeezing a ball
- Use a comfort item ( blanket, stuffy)
- Go to a safe space (
my bedroom etc.)
- Listen to music
- Exercise- go for a walk
- Have something to eat
- Talk to a friend
- Watch or read something funny
